26th August 2010 - Stuart is picking up the kilts today for all the men, and Helen is finishing making the favours, featuring the BEST TABLET IN THE WORLD.
25th August 2010 - TWO DAYS TO GO!!
24th August 2010 - Helen got all sorts of painful beauty procedures performed today, all in aid of the big day!
23rd August 2010 - Helen picked up her wedding dress & veil, and Stuart bought a belt & buckle for his kilt!
22rd August 2010 - We have picked up, decorated & assembled our wedding cake.
13th August 2010 - ONLY 2 WEEKS UNTIL THE WEDDING!!!!!
12th August 2010 - The favours and table decorations have been finalised.
10th August 2010 - Helen has finished the final seating arrangement and place setting cards for dinner on the day of the wedding. We have also been hard at work downloading the songs that guests have requested for the reception.
6th August 2010 - Helen and Stuart both thoroughly enjoyed their hen and stag nights. Lots of family and friends were in attendance, and made them nights to remember!
5th August 2010 - After having the final fitting, Helens dress is ready for steaming and collection on the week of the wedding.
20th July 2010 - We have booked our honeymoon! We are going to Bath for 2 days, staying at Dorian Place Hotel and enjoying a champagne lunch and use of the thermal spa. Then we will go to London for 2 days to shop and go to some museums!
18th July 2010 - Both the Hen Night and the Stag Night have been organised. The hen night will be cocktails and dinner in Glasgow on 6th August. Best Man Liam has helped Stuart to arrange the Stag night at Jongleurs Comedy Club on the same evening as the Hen night.
16th July 2010 - We have arranged the bar with Top Glass mobile bars to be set up at the reception venue
14th July 2010 - The invites were taken to the post office and sent today and should be with guest shortly! Remember to RSVP :)
9th July 2010 - Helen, her Mum and her aunt Lib have been busy making the wedding invites which has been a lot of hard work but definately worth it. Helen had also been making the stationary for the day with the help of Stuart's dad, Shug, including menus, orders of services, place settings, table name cards and the seating arrangement board.
5th July 2010 - Helen and her Mum have had a trail run of getting their make up done for the big day by Jacqui's Beauty Room. Jacqui has been brilliant by ensuring that everyone will stay flawless for the photographs.
2nd July 2010 - We have bought and made all the decorations for the reception including chair covers, candles, balloons, table confetti and lanterns.
7th June 2010 - Helen, Stuart, Katie & David met with Ann Henderson, the hall convenor at Hyndland Hall, to visit the reception venue. The visit involved numerous measurements with Davids super cool electronic measurement gizmo, and interrupting people doing pilates! The hall is perfect, and will be a great venue for the wedding reception. Luckily the venue has a commercial sized oven, which will please our caterers immensely, and a big dance floor which will hopefully please our guests!
6th June 2010 - Helen has contacted L&S Photography to arrange evening photography - specialising in candid shots, so watch out!
5th June 2010 - Glasgow Taxis have been contacted in order to arrange taxis for the wedding party; if you think you will need a taxi between the ceremony and reception on the day, please either contact Glasgow Taxis or email Helen & Stuart to arrange this.
4th June 2010 - Helen has purchased all the necessary items in order to make the invitations for the wedding, and will be doing so shortly with the help of her mum.
3rd June 2010 - Helen has booked trial hair appointments for herself and her mum, as well as the hair appointments for herself, her mum and Sarah (bridesmaid) on 27th August, at Chesné Hair
22nd May 2010 - Today the men from Stuarts side of the wedding party got measured up for their kilts at MacGregor & MacDuff kiltmakers in Glasgow. Suffice to say they will all scrub up very well, especially Stuarts four nephews - but hopefully not too well that they outshine the groom!
8th May 2010 - Today Stuart was able to pick up his kilt!
6th May 2010 - Helen and her mum went for the first fitting of her wedding dress for alterations to be made. The dress looks wonderful and they are going to allow the dress to be tied up at the back when the time for dancing comes on the big day!
14th April 2010 - Today Helen and her Mum went to visit the hotel and have booked it! The hotel is the newly refurbished Lorne Hotel in the West End of Glasgow. We have booked the wedding suite and a room for Helen and her bridesmaid the night before, Stuart will be kept far away! If any of our guests require/wish accommodation near the reception venue for the night before, or the night of, the wedding we recommend this hotel. 14th April 2010 - Helen has bought her shoes for the wedding from Rainbow Club, which needed to happen before the fitting of her dress on 6th May!
9th April 2010 - Catherine Maddock, the mother of the bride (or mob as she is getting called!), has purchased part of her mother of the bride outfit after some seriously lengthy personal shopping sessions and numerous trips into town!
April - The car has been secured for the wedding by West of Scotland Wedding Cars and is an E-class Mercedes Benz.
March - The photographer for the wedding ceremony and formal photographs has been secured.
March - We have ordered and picked up our wedding rings ready for the big day and for Liam to hold on to!
March - Helen’s wedding dress has arrived and is being stored. She has booked a fitting on 6th May 2010 and has to buy her shoes in preparation for this.
February - You will all be very glad to hear that we have arranged the bar for the wedding reception! The prices are very reasonable and there will be a wine waiter at dinner along with hiring the bar.
January -Stuart has been fitted for, and ordered his kilt, by Houston Kilt Makers of Paisley. He has chosen the ‘ancient’ variant of his family’s tartan, Farquarson. If anyone else is interested in purchasing a kilt then Houston Kilt Makers offer very reasonable kilt packages and they are really friendly and helpful – the best one that Stuart inquired about. We have secured the date with our caterers, Regis Banqueting, and have prepared a provisional menu, including giant profiteroles!

2nd October 2009 - We have sent save the date cards to some of our guests for the ceremony, invitations will follow nearer the time.
